Certification or Degree Program

Education

Many modern jobs require employees to have minimum schooling, but it can often be accomplished through a certificate program instead of a full degree. For those seeking to keep their current job, taking fewer classes is often easier on them. They can study what they already know, receive a certificate in about a year, and they can continue their education at a later time. If necessary, they can often use their certification program as a base for higher education.

Schools with degree programs used to all have a minimum of four year programs for students, but many newer degrees and certifications take much less time. An associate’s degree is now very acceptable for younger workers, and older workers who are returning to school generally find this is all they need to maintain their current status. For those who have plenty of work experience, a certification program that lasts a year is often the best way to update their academic credits without a lengthy degree program.
